That’s got to suck pretty hard, right? Your weeks of research and planning get washed away by the rain and you end up sitting in your house with no idea of what things to do on a rainy day.
There’s nothing worse than having your fun planned day ruined by rainy weather. While yes there are some fun things like going to the beach, picnics, or on a hike, which gets affected by rain, there are still loads of cool things to do on a rainy day with your friends and family. So, in this article, we’ll be discussing some fun things to do on a rainy day with your loved ones by staying indoors.
Things to Do On a Rainy Day with Your Friends
It doesn’t matter where you are or what kind of weather it is, when you’re with your friends, it’s easy to make the best out of any situation. So, even if it’s raining cats and dogs outside, here are some fun things you can do with your friends on a rainy day:
1. Go for a drive
It doesn’t seem such a good idea to go out for a walk or run on a rainy day since there’s a high chance you can get sick. However, if you or your friend has a car, going for a long drive is one of the coolest things to do on a rainy day.
2. De-stress in spa
In today’s modern world, it’s hard not to be stressed out by the workload at both office and house. And what’s the best way to get rid of that stress than sitting in a room with hot steam. So, if it’s raining, book yourself and your friends for a spa session and de-stress.
3. Watch a movie
You work 5 days a week non-stop and whenever the weekend comes around, you’re too tired to do things with your friends. And when you’re fine to go, your friend bails at the last minute. This happens to me almost every time. So, invite your friends to your house, and host a little cinema festival at your home.

Things to Do On a Rainy Day with Your Kids
Kids these days are so fed up with watching TV and playing video games. During weekends or holidays, they just want to get out of the house and do their own little things outside. But, what to do if it’s raining and you don’t know what things to do on a rainy day with your children? Below are some cool things you can do along with your kids:
1. Play board games
Kids of today’s modern generation have no idea how fun board games used to be before the internet broke out. I remember when I was a kid, I along with my parents and cousins used to play monopoly during weekends and holidays. And trust me, board games are still fun and it will bring back some nostalgic memories of your childhood.
2. Teach your child to bake
If you’re someone who’s always out on work and never gets to spend time with your kids, a rainy day might be a blessing in disguise for you. One of the best ways to connect with your kids is to teach them things that will remain with them forever. That being said, baking is a very fun and creative way to build a bond with your children.
3. Camp inside
It’s so fascinating how children find a castle or cave made of blankets and bed sheets fun. If it’s raining and you can’t get outside, grab a tent or even bed sheets and blankets work. Tell them a horror story or whatever it is children do on camping.

Things to Do On a Rainy Day Alone
Sometimes you feel like you just want to detach yourself from the outside world and enjoy your own company. And during rainy weather, it even suits your thinking since everyone will be at their home and it’s unlikely that anyone will bother you. So here are some of the things to do on a rainy day when you’re alone:
1. Soak in a warm bath
Sometimes, whenever it rains, I feel like it’s God telling me to take a break from everything and give all of my focus and attention to myself. It’s healthy and beneficial to take care of yourself once in a while. So, leave whatever you’re doing and fill your tub with warm water, pour yourself a glass of wine (or tea, according to your preference), light some scented candles, and get lost in your bathroom.
2. Take a nap
In my opinion, one of the best feelings you can get during a rainy day is a deep and warm nap. A Rainy day is almost a utopia for taking a nap. So, grab the softest pillow and the warmest blanket you have and go on a dreamy nap for an hour.
3. Listen to your favorite album
Do you ever feel like you’re a character in a movie when it’s raining outside and music is playing in the background? I know I do, and it feels kind of cool and I don’t know, makes me feel special, too. So, grab your iPod, or any music player and listen to your favorite album to enjoy the rainy day.
